We had an interesting time at the Lihue airport, too. Between the time we checked in and printed our boarding passes and the time we got to the airport, they changed the type of plane they were bringing in and everyone's seats were reassigned---and mostly not together.
Another great Kauai vacation! Loved sharing it with friends. Can't wait to come back!
STL? St Louis? We live in North County and will be on Kauai soon! Nice blog! Thanks for the Lydgate update

You'll probably wake up to the sounds of the AC unit!
DeleteI'm sure we'll be taking you to Salt Pond for a sunset. And I know we'll be going to Brick Oven Pizza!
I told Ken you guys were arriving tomorrow and he said he thought you were arriving Wed. Good thing you sent me your itinerary!
ReplyDeleteWe go to Kauai every year--actually, just got back--I love reading your daily journal. I already have so many new ideas for next year! Thank for you taking the time to share with us.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're enjoying my blog!
DeleteYou're truly a blogger now that you're using the acronym "DH"!
ReplyDeleteWish we were there with you!!!
I thought I was just being lazy!
DeleteWe wish you guys were here, too!!!!
I don't know what I am going to do when you come back to the mainland. My current schedule every morning is to get up and read about what you did in Kauai! We did the ziplining last year--it was a lot more fun than we thought it would be. Hope you have another incredible day in paradise!
ReplyDeleteSorry to disappoint you tomorrow morning! Have been sicker then a dog.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry!!! Hope you get your heli tour today! Blessings!
ReplyDeleteSo thankful you are feeling better! That was a lot of rain yesterday. I keep learning new things from your blogging--never heard about the orchid garden and I love orchids!
ReplyDeleteFinally! Some cocktails! With all the rain, you guys need to do more sippin'!!! And you "settled" for TWO pendants! Hooray! I hope Connie and John are having a good time. I know you two are! XOXO
ReplyDeleteYuuuuup! We're having a great time---now that I'm in the land of the living again!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh!!!! Turtles!! And an eel!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have thoroughly enjoyed reading your blog. My husband & I are heading to Kauai on April 13th for the first time. Any advice for first timers to the island? Should we expect rain everyday? I'm a little nervous to make excursion reservations right now - should I wait? Thanks
ReplyDeleteFirst time we were here, we made reservations for everything with our conceirge and it mostly turned out ok. In future years we learned to wait until we checked weather reports and booked a day or 2 before. They don't always cancel because of bad weather. As for rain in April---I bet you'll have some, but I would be surprised if it poured the whole time. There's fun things you can do in the rain----tour coffee plantation, luau, snorkel, shop for expensive jewelry!
DeleteWhat kind of underwater camera do you have? You get such great pictures!
ReplyDeleteI've had the Canon D10 for the last 3 years. Love it! I do usually adjust the levels of the picture just a bit with photoshop, but nothing extensive. The trick to good underwater pictures is being in shallow water and clear water.
DeleteI want one! Your pictures are so good!!! Thank you for the tips.
DeleteI hate that drop off at Tunnels! So scary!!! But I love the sea turtle!
ReplyDeleteThat last time we were at TUnnels, the water level was so low that the outter reef looked really large and pretty close to the shore reef. I was thinking---boy, if Angie was here I could get her to swim to the outter reef with me!
