1996 Oregon with side trip to Seattle and Vancouver, BC

gotta do our trip up in to the mountains.  Don't get to see much in the way of mountains in St. Louis.

and our trip to the coast.  No ocean beaches in St. Louis, either.
For a little while I liked to play around with Tiffin filters.  Obviously this one is of a rainbow.
The kids have grown up so much in the last few years!  I'm afraid there won't be many more trips to Oregon with them!
hanging out at the beach with David and family

braces are off
I could watch the ocean all day.
having a bar b q at Carolyn and Tom's place.  Carolyn and Jane hamming it up.
Probably the only time I really had short hair.
and back at Carolyn's---wish I had that wheelchair for Ken!

On to another mini vacation within our vacation.  We got to where we stayed a little longer on our trips, so got to go on 2 mini vacations.  This time we headed up to Vancouver, BC with a night in Seattle, too.

the space needle from the little tram that goes there.

the iconic view of the city from up in "queen's heights?"
we even had lunch in the space needle.    Tim sporting his braces from having jaw surgery a couple months ago.  He seems to be recovering very well.
on to Canada.  This much be the American side.
don't remember where this was.
nice entrance into BC
view of a cruise ship in Vancouver.
view of the Vancouver skyline from Stanley park.

walking around downtown Vancouver.

We also did a city tour by bus.  Loved this view as we went over a bridge.
We also spent some time in Stanley Park.  Love the view of the city from there.
 and out to sea
One last view from the park

The last day we walked around the city a bit.  Beautiful walkable city.
 The port
 gaslight clock
An interesting drum band playing downtown.
the Science Center, I think.  Didn't go in it, just saw it when we drove around town before heading back to Oregon.

It was hard getting Ken to leave the USA, but after so many years of the same thing in Oregon, we decided to experience something a little different.  Vancouver is a beautiful city.  Hopefully we'll get back there someday.
