Well, my love for Homewood suites has been somewhat dampened! I like that they have a "full" kitchen---full size fridge, stove, table and chairs, even a dishwasher; but as far as handicapped mobile accessible, it pretty well sucked! I even stressed at check in that it needs to be mobile accessible for a wheelchair. He assured me it is. Upon check out, the gal said it wasn't noted as being accessible. I guess they (like so many places) don't pay attention when someone reserves a mobile accessible room. I even went back and checked my reservation:

In addition to that, I knew I reserved a 1 bedroom suite, but he said it was a 2 bedroom suite and that the rate I got was really good for that. I agree, the rate was good, but I'm beginning to think he just gave me a room and didn't consider if it was handicap accessible. Good thing it was a 2 bedroom, we ended up sleeping in the 2nd bedroom since Ken couldn't get to the bed in the master bedroom.
No way would he have gotten into the kitchen, either.
I
also had to rearrange the furniture in the living room----as I'm
finding I always have to do to make room for the wheelchair. The
original set up has the side arm chair about where Ken is here.
unused master bedroom
I liked that we had 2 bathrooms. I could set up his potty chair and leave it there.
this was the only thing that spoke handicap accessible. But it was in a tub and he can't get in a tub.
master bed towards bathroom---note the lack of room.
I
also noticed the rug was terribly stained. I know they allow dogs
here, so assume it's from dogs. Sure wouldn't want a baby crawling on
the carpet!
another problem---the toilette room door won't shut with a potty chair in place. And the bathroom had no door.
the chair would make it into the bathroom, but knuckles would get scraped.
barely between the dresser and bed.
wouldn't make it on the other side, either. I did check to see if I could move the bed, but it wouldn't go.
the walker fit between the 2 beds, but wouldn't turn so he could sit.
ANother huge disappointment was no hot breakfast or evening "snack". He said it was because they couldn't get people to work. Now that the country is opening up again, noone wants to work. Why would they when the government is giving them more to stay home?! If we go to Knoxville again, I'll be looking for a different place to stay.
