9-5-2018 off to Yellowstone---by way of Jackson Hole!

13 months of waiting and the day is finally here!

So I packed up a bunch of low carb foods for Ken to have (working on getting that A1C down) while we were gone since he'd be house bound and carted it and him over to Angie and Josh's where he would stay for the week and watch the dogs.

He even got a little time in with Layla before we took off.

Didn't get too far before traffic came to a screeching halt.  Looked like this guy broke an axle and flipped the car carrier he was towing.  Rather expensive journey for them!
Luckily, Layla was in a happy mood and pretty content most of the 3 hour trip to the airport.  She doesn't usually like car rides!
But she does like being held, so there was no problems with her at the airport.
Her first time in an airport.  I have a feeling she's going to be quite the world traveler before too long!
She even enjoyed the plane ride.  Wonder what she was thinking as she looked down on the world below?!
Since she's under 2, she got to fly for free.  But that also meant she was a lap child.  With 3 of us sitting in the row, we pretty well kept her entertained.
Our flights took us from ATL - DFW.  A tropical storm was coming up the gulf, so it was a bit cloudy.
Layla even napped awhile during the flights.
After a short lay over in Dallas, we were on our way to Jackson Hole.  Left Perry about 11:30am.  Had a 4pm flight from ATL - DFW.  Then left there about 6 and got into JAC about 8:30 (loosing 2 hours along the way for time zone changes).
It's really nice that many of the major airlines now have screens on the back of the seat in front of you so you can watch tv, movies or check an interactive map for location.  On this flight, I watched the movie: The 15:17 to Paris about the Americans who foiled an attack on a train bound to Paris in 2015.  Good movie!
Circling into Jackson Hole for a landing
Even saw a pretty sunset as we neared the airport.
Our welcome to Jackson Hole Airport---arch made of antlers.
It was a long day, but went quite well.  We didn't know how Layla would do, but she was a champ.  The change in air pressure in the plane didn't even seem to bother her.  But I'm glad we didn't have another 2.5 hours of car ride to get to our resort tonight.  We booked the night at Jackson Lodge so we could go through the Tetons tomorrow on our way to our week long base in West Yellowstone.  Ended up with frozen pizzas for dinner.
