It was a bit chilly this morning. But we still enjoyed hanging out on the lanai.
Layla even brought her Monkey Unky out to enjoy the lanai
Layla loved going in and out to the lanai.
she also loved vacuuming the run, kitchen, lanai, ... .
We had the cleanest carpets around
The views from the lanai were pretty nice, but I wonder how much of the lake you'd see when the trees are leafed out?
Lots of docks---free docking. in fact, Angie checked the realtor page and noticed a few condos here for sale. Apparently Wyndham doesn't have too many units here, but they are the managing company. Looks like prices were reasonable at about $150,000 for a 2 bedroom unit and HOAs were about $1000. But that supposedly included internet, cable and I think utilities, as well as grounds and pool maintenance.
After eating breakfast in the condo, we headed off to Lake Marion State Park to let "Layla" do a little fishing. Pretty nice park. Looks like they have kayaks to rent, too. They also had 2 playgrounds by the park gift shop and lots of cabins. Some of the cabins were actually built over the water like you see in tropical resorts.
Layla enjoyed watching the bobber, but she didn't get much of a chance to actually "fish".
Finally, cranking the bait back in.
Josh trying his luck at it.
a look at the pier we fished from and the gift shop.
Angie trying her luck
Back to Grandpa.
I guess Layla decided fishing wasn't that much fun and was ready to explore
Our only "selfie" of the triptrying to let Layla do some more fishing
maybe there's fish way out there, Grandpa
There was another pier by our car, but it was for boats only---and little observers
Just thought the yellow reflection of the dock on the water was cool
At the playground, this little guy immediately caught my eye. He was such a bright red. Never seen a bug like this before.
Didn't take Layla long to get up to the top of the slide. She's gotten over her fear of high slides.
Although she did want Dad to slide with her.
Dad had a fun time getting through the little tunnel
synchronized sliding---a new sport!
end it with a dance
tandem sliding---another new sport
solo sliding
There was another playground by the gift shop, so we went there, too.
Layla enjoyed playing there, too.
Back at the condo it was time to chill out on the lanai---with some bubbles.
Layla sure likes chasing bubbles.
A sunset from the lanai. Unfortunately the sun actually sat over the buildings further down the parking lot, but we still had a little color.
made the bare trees look pretty neat.
Time for dinner. Spaghetti tonight. it was very good.
Grandpa and his little buddy
Grandpa and his glasses lanyard!
a little out of order, but showing off more of the condo
back to the sunset.
And that brings us to the end of our first full day.
